Sparkle Every Day: You Just Get One

Speaker 1:

What's up? Sparkle Squad, welcome to Sparkle. Every Day I am just driving trying to find some parking at the beach and I wanted to jump on here and give you guys a little message that I actually heard from one of my mentors and coaches this week and it was so, so good. She shared it in a podcast episode as well and I was like I have to share that with the Sparkle Squad because it is just too good, and I believe that she even mentioned that she had heard it from one of her coaches.

So imagine that when you're 18 years old, somebody gives you a car and they tell you that this car, this vehicle, is going to be the only vehicle you ever get for your entire life. You're never gonna be able to buy another car, you're never gonna be gifted another car like this is your car for life. You probably would want to take really good care of that car, right? You'd probably be like, well, wow, this is the only car I'm getting. I better really take care of this thing. I better really, you know, check its oil and you know make sure to put new tires on it and keep track of everything and, you know, not running into the ground and only give it the best and you really would make sure that this car was a priority, because if it died when you were like 40 or when you were 50 or when you were 60, that's it. You'd be taking the bus, getting rides from people you know you would never get another car, and I can sure you can see where I'm going with this, right. Why is it that when it's our body, we do something different. We think to ourselves eh, one more year of, you know, staying up really late for work, just this year. But once this year's over, I won't do this like level of stress to my body anymore. Or just one more, you know, couple weeks of eating like this and then, starting on the first of the month, I'm going to get my shit together. You wouldn't do that if it was the only thing you knew you were ever going to get, but guess what it is? It is the only you know body that we're ever going to get. You don't get to get another one.

Speaker 1:

And even when you make these healthy changes like I know myself I've made a lot of healthy changes in my life it doesn't go back and take away the time when I was in high school and eating fast food and living a sedentary lifestyle. It doesn't take that away. Like, yes, does it make it better? Does my life improve? Of course it's amazing, but it doesn't take away those years. You never can go back and remove the poor things that you've done to your body. You can only improve upon them. So if you are, you know, living a lifestyle that's really hard on your heart or really hard on your you know body, your joints are in pain all the time just because you lose a bunch of weight, it doesn't make that go away.

Speaker 1:

So am I saying this because, like, oh, you're screwed. If you didn't do it yet, you're screwed. No, I'm saying this is your vehicle. You get this for life. So whatever you need to do right now to start taking care of it, do it now. You only get one chance at this. And I don't know you guys.

Speaker 1:

I felt like it was so, so eye-opening. Even in our group, the coaching group, somebody put a picture of like an old beaten down vehicle and then a really nice, shiny vehicle next to it, and she was like I'm putting this on my vision board to constantly remind me that, like, I don't want to be that beaten down vehicle, I want to be this shiny car for the rest of my life and I need to do everything I can to take care of it Like you are your shiny new ride, and take care of it like it's a gift, because it is a gift and it's the only gift you're going to be given of this body and this lifetime. So, with that said, I'm going to go on a walk and do my meditation and treat myself to you know, some good health. All right, bye.
